Made in Scandinavia, for Europe
IT Trust compliance software was originally developed to enable leading organisations in Europe to meet the requirements of EU privacy laws.
It has been widely and successfully adopted in Scandinavia since 2012 and is now available worldwide, providing a software solution which enables website owners to meet their legal obligations related to use of personal data, as required in the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and ePrivacy Regulation.
“Our aim is to make it as easy and cost-effective as possible for your website to achieve GDPR and ePrivacy compliance”
Oreste Maspes, COO, IT Trust
Under the GDPR, personal data now includes any information which makes it possible to identify an individual person, either directly or indirectly. This mean that information obtained from a website cookie or other tracker which is uniquely connected to an individual and capable of identifying that individual, is classed as personal data. Importantly, the information is still viewed as personal data, even if anonymised, if it is possible to identify the individual through ‘reverse engineering’ techniques.
As a website owner, the GDPR regulations require you to provide the same level of protection for information obtained from cookies and trackers as for personal data such as name, address, social security number and bank details.
